Knowing the methods and practices of ancient astronomy clarifies any and all doubts about how astronomical knowledge in those cultures was scientific, rigorous, and far from mysterious.
This astronomy is based on its own mathematical and geometric principles, which allow for the connection of cycles in space and time, of the sky and the earth. It is an astronomical system that describes the chain of planetary movements of the Moon, the Earth, and the Sun, based on patterns similar to the forms of natural life on Earth's surface, observed across multiple dimensions and phenomena.
The astronomical system behind the structure of calendars justifies the immense wisdom achieved by ancient cultures—knowledge that was likely gifted to them by the Universe itself, as a result of their observations of the sky.
The teachings provided by this astronomical knowledge are truly educational. They fit into fundamental cultural concepts always considered and utilized by humanity, within the science and spirituality of ancient and modern cultures.
The greatest challenge of this research conducted on the Maya and Aztec Haab and Tzolkin calendars was uncovering the astronomy behind them, a task that took 20 years to complete.
This was a work carried out through the observation of a vast array of numbers and numerical series that repeated themselves in a staggering way, until it was possible to understand how cycles of time and space were measured in ancient cultures, and how the orbits of the Earth, the Moon, and the Sun—to which this study is restricted—were structured.
The main objective of this project on the methods and practices of astronomy carried out in ancient cultures is to describe the astronomical mechanics of the Earth's and Moon's orbits around the Sun and within the universe. This astronomical system reveals itself to be highly detailed and rigorous, describing the orbits and different movements of the planets in a mathematical and geometric way, with all details expressed in integer and rational values.
Although this research was initially intended to be only related to ancient astronomy, the study of the calendars transformed into a learning process about an immense cultural knowledge, which ultimately relates to everything, and to the whole.
The first step in learning Mayan astronomy is to understand the circular system in which astronomical observations were carried out, based on a circular reference frame of 1440’ (minutes) where the most varied astronomical measurements and observations were practiced. This is a highly versatile tool, very similar to the zodiac in astrology, even though it features quite different measurement methods; among many other variations, in the 1440’ matrix there were no signs or degrees, only minutes.
The circular observation system in the 1440’ matrix allowed for the study and tracking of Earth’s natural and astronomical events in a cyclical manner, highly adjusted and close to the order and expansion of the universe.
The most extraordinary thing about learning this astronomy is discovering that the ancient orbital observation system was conducted in a three-dimensional way, with all the details and based on teachings without precedent in our culture. It is a system that allows for the step-by-step tracking of the movement of the planets, described by their orbits and orbital planes, in space and time, journeying through the universe.
This astronomy was built upon a harmonious and perfect mathematical and geometric system, reproduced in three dimensions—two of space and one of time—which describes the chain of orbital movements across scales and units of space and time proportional to the Earth and to man, where the solar day was the main reference measure.
It is through this circular system of measurement that the study of ancestral calendars reveals itself to be far more sophisticated than could have been expected. The patterns found in spacetime within astronomy by ancient cultures may have considerably influenced ancestral thought. This was a scientific system where the observation of celestial bodies journeying through the universe, or any natural event or phenomenon on the Earth's surface, was explained through a circular system of a cyclical nature.
The events described by ancient cultures within the 1440’ matrix directly replicate the orbital and evolutionary astronomical processes of natural life, closely matching the dynamics found in the universe to which we are subjected.
Despite their similarities, the 1440’ matrix is a much more complex astronomical measurement system than the zodiac. It is a multi-functional tool that allowed for the observation of astronomical systems and phenomena in diverse ways, dimensions, and perspectives—a method that provided ancient cultures with a broad understanding of the order and expansion of the universe.
This astronomy explains the universe as a cluster of multi-dimensional, interconnected systems within systems, observed through their orbital, circular, and cyclical movements in space and time. It is a universe where nothing can be observed in isolation, individually, or independently.
The translation and the four seasons, the cycle from new moon to full moon, the 24 hours of the solar day and rotation, and the moon’s orbit and the tides are a few examples of the most common events on Earth that can be graphically and anatomically illustrated on the 1440’ matrix—orbital dynamics that can be tracked there, step-by-step and in three dimensions.
It was only at the beginning of the 20th century that the concept of spacetime emerged and began to take shape in our modern culture. However, through the study of calendars, we can confirm that in ancestral science, Earth's spacetime was not just a concept, but an already recognized reality based on highly developed knowledge, representing the starting point for the study of astronomy.

An astronomy that dedicated itself to studying Earth’s own spacetime web—a structure composed of small and large mathematical and geometric patterns in space and time, integrated in a harmonious and proportional way, resulting from the dynamic and cyclical articulation of planets journeying through the universe. These are patterns found in astronomy and in life on Earth, across various dimensions and forms, always in motion and expanding.
In ancestral astronomy, space and time are observed as systems integrated into one another; it is within this very inseparable format that these cultures relate the physical form of matter and the psychic manifestation of natural life on Earth. This was a highly developed knowledge among those cultures, where all natural systems were observed in an integrated, simultaneous, and complementary manner—in life, matter, spirit, Earth, and sky.
Spacetime in modern science is identified as a structure that manifests through its own curvature—a deformation resulting from the passage of matter and energy through space. This is a concept of spacetime that, according to Einstein’s theory of general relativity, dictates that gravity is not a force, but rather the consequence of the curvature of spacetime.
Meanwhile, spacetime in ancestral astronomy is explained as an articulated structure, described through harmonious and proportional patterns that result from the orbital dynamics and intersections of planets in each specific spacetime segment of the universe. This is the spacetime network which, in Earth's case, is woven by its own dynamics with the Moon and the Sun—a mesh that surrounds and accompanies the Earth in space, in time, and upon its surface.
From the perspective of ancient cultures, Earth’s spacetime is like a web in perpetual motion and evolution, organized by chains of harmonious and successive patterns across various scales and forms, recognized by the similarities found with natural life on Earth's surface. An astronomical structure woven by the triple system of the Earth, the Moon, and the Sun, which can be interpreted as a sort of womb—a generator of physical form and matter—while also being considered a vehicle for propagating the psychic and emotional manifestation of natural life on our planet.
Modern and ancestral spacetime are difficult concepts to relate, but not necessarily irreconcilable. Two cultures separated by time and knowledge, observing spacetime through different patterns and perspectives, even if both are described using space and time coordinates.
In modern physics, spacetime is observed as four-dimensional, whereas in ancestral astronomy, spacetime is three-dimensional. This dimensional mismatch between modern and ancestral spacetime is justified by the difference in perspective and observation practices through which both systems are carried out. In modern physics, spacetime is a structure observed in a universe far remote from Earth, while in ancestral astronomy, spacetime is described and integrated within the orbital dynamics right here, on planet Earth.
In modern physics, the four-dimensional coordinate system results from combining the three spatial dimensions—length, width, and height, where the standard unit of measurement is the meter—with a time dimension, where the standard unit is the second. This four-dimensional spacetime coordinate system is mathematically transformed into a single structure—a highly complex and abstract model with no direct correlation to nature—described by Einstein’s field equation in the theory of general relativity, which allows for the connection of the curvature of spacetime to the distribution of matter and energy in space.
It was through two directions and two coordinates of space and time observed within the matrix that the orbital velocity was determined and the movements of the planets were described in ancestral astronomy.
The ancestral spacetime model is found in the orbits and angular velocity of the planets, determined upon the 1440’ matrix. This is an astronomy with an observation system that allows for the identification of several different orbital movements and perspectives within a planet's orbit, determined simultaneously and complementarily by three coordinates—two of space and one of time. This is a method developed by ancient cultures that is in no way related to the most common modern three-dimensional coordinate systems.
Ancient astronomical knowledge allows for the distinction between different types of movement, obliquity, and the orbital velocity of planets in space and time. The set of ancestral coordinates and observation methods provides a complete, detailed, and three-dimensional astronomical vision of how planets move on their journey through the universe, and how it is possible to achieve and construct a rigorous, standardized, and punctual spacetime mesh.
Even though in both ancestral and modern astronomy space and time are observed in an integrated and simultaneous manner, ancestral spacetime is studied through the circular and cyclical system of the 1440’ matrix, whereas the modern system is based on linear observations. The differences found in the concept of ancestral spacetime—integrated into the here and now of our journey through the universe—are substantial when compared to modern spacetime, where its description remains mysterious, like a well-kept secret behind an equation.
The ancestral coordinate system explained in the study of calendars is unprecedented in modern cultures—an astronomical model where two opposing and complementary movements are identified within the orbits of the planets, represented by two space coordinates marked in opposite directions, both related to a common time coordinate upon the 1440’ matrix.
The solar movement is the orbital movement of the planets, observed in a circular and cyclical way on the 1440’ matrix, identified in a clockwise direction from a fixed orbital perspective; in the dynamics of velocity, this is modified so that planets do not leave their orbits, thanks to a contrary, complementary movement of its own: the sidereal movement, identified in a counterclockwise direction on the 1440’ matrix, a practice that allows for the tracking of the variation of the orbital planes of the orbiting planets.
The solar and sidereal movements of the planets' orbits are marked on the 1440’ matrix simultaneously. Thus, it is through two opposing orbital forces, represented by two spacetime coordinates in opposition, that the ancestral astronomical system distinguishes, at every moment in space and time, the orbital movement of the planets concurrently with their precession movement.
It is through the way ancestral astronomy differentiates between the solar and sidereal movements that it becomes possible to explain the orbits of the planets using integer and rational values—an astronomical system that allows for the graphical and three-dimensional tracking of the orbital spirals of planets journeying through the universe, revealing that the modern ecliptic astronomical model may be a highly incomplete system.
It was upon the 1440’ matrix that ancestral astronomy observed the orbits and planetary cycles, always represented in their full rotation of 1440’ (or 360º in the modern system), where the planetary magnitudes represented there are expressed exclusively in units of minutes for time, and angular minutes for space.
The 1440-minute matrix is an astronomical chart inspired by the solar day—a system that allows any complete planetary orbit to be represented in an equivalent and proportional way, on a human and Earth scale.
In this astronomy, the unit was the cycle—a mandatory evolutionary structure in the universe, always fully completed by all identities. Whether larger or smaller in spacetime, the cycle is the natural evolutionary order represented on the 1440’ matrix, where the 1440 minutes represent the most common pattern of fractionation for the possible reference moments within any cycle, which in truth can be divided into infinite parts in space and time.
For those cultures, the unity and integrity of a complete cycle was sacred, indivisible, and unable to be interrupted. In alignment with the matrix and the universe, the ancestral observation method did not consider linear systems; all scientific studies were based on circular systems of a cyclical nature, which allowed astronomy to observe the alignments and patterns described in space and time resulting from planetary dynamics, which lie at the origin of the articulation of spacetime.
Because it is non-linear, the ancestral measurement system studies and observes astronomical events always over complete cycles, with a starting and ending point of zero minutes. Regardless of its amplitude in spacetime, a complete cycle always has an orbit of 1440’. It is through planetary orbits, cycles, events, and alignments that the study of astronomy takes place—the dynamics through which the universe manifests in a circular, cyclical, rigorous, and punctual way.
This is a body of knowledge that describes the journey of planet Earth, tracking its various movements and dynamics alongside other planets in their orbits, intersections, and different velocities, upon which spacetime is woven.
